Ing. Dr. Peter Kweku Otchere completed his B.Sc. (Hons) Degree at the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at the then Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, School of Mines (KNUST.SM), Tarkwa, Ghana. He worked as an Intern at Electricity Company of Ghana and the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority during his study.  He was selected as a Graduate Trainee to do his mandatory National Service at the Electrical Department of Samartex Timber Company. He later pursued his M.Sc. (Hons) Degree studies at the HAN University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands. He had his professional certification in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering at TTE UK. He further pursued his Ph.D (Hons) Degree studies at Jiangsu University, China and returned to Ghana as a Senior Lecturer at the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Takoradi Technical University. He was also seconded to the Jubilee Technical Training Centre as the Centre Coordinator in charge of training learners to gain hands-on skill in the oil and gas industry as well as other allied industries. He is a professional engineer with a license from the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) and He has been with Takoradi Technical University Electrical Department since 2007.

Ing. Dr Peter Kweku Otchere is currently the Head of Department at the Maritime Engineering department at TTU. He is versatile and serves as a Trainer for both Industrial Instrumentation and Electrical at the Jubilee Technical Training Centre (JTTC), TTU, and a good-standing member of the Ghana Institute of Engineers (GhIE). Teaching and research as well as community service in an environment where good communication skills and knowledge of Engineering can be used proactively to maximize profitability is his core mandate. Additionally, the promotion of cooperation with industry and applied technology to solve technological problems in industry as well as exploring new research areas to increase understanding in the engineering industry is his focus.

• NEBOSH Award in Health and Safety at Work Level II TTE International Wilton Training Centre and Southbank
• QCF Level II Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations within a Replicated Environment (PAAVQSET, UK) – Instrumentation Engineering
• QCF Level II Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations within a Replicated Environment (PAAVQSET, UK) – Electrical Engineering
• Specialist training in the Amatrol Training System: Process control systems, Programmable logic Controls, Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, and pneumatic systems.

With his exposure to both academic and industrial skills, Ing. Dr Peter Kweku Otchere has trained learners for both international and local content for the Oil and Gas sector and other industrially tailored areas, commissioning of industrial plants, calibration of industrial instruments, and preparing and maintaining equipment for industries.
