Mechanical Trainer

Engr. Ahmed Kwame Amissah – PE (IET) is a Senior Technician at Takoradi Technical University in the Mechanical Engineering Department under the Faculty of Engineering, a qualified and passionate Mechanical Trainer with over 9 years of experience in systems training, industrial equipment maintenance, and workforce competency development at Jubilee Technical Training Centre (JTTC). He has trained and assessed technicians, operators, and mechanical professionals for leading oil and gas companies across Ghana, the Ivory Coast, and Mozambique, delivering both theoretical and practical training aligned with international standards and safety regulations.

He holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering from Takoradi Technical University (TTU), a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) from Cape Coast Technical University, which is affiliated with North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (USA), and a Higher National Diploma (H.N.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from Takoradi Polytechnic. His foundation in Heavy-Duty and Diesel Mechanics was laid at the Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI). These academic credentials are supported by several professional certifications, including ETA Awards NVQ Level II in performing Engineering Operations, Basic Fire Training and Occupational Health and Safety.

Engr. Amissah is also an active Professional Engineer member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (PE-IET), Ghana, and holds the certified engineer (ENGR) designation. He has undergone Instructor Training in Mechanical Fittings and is proficient in applying Competency Assurance Systems (CAS) to support national and corporate training frameworks and is a certified Trainer for Competency-Based Training in Mechanical Engineering, COTVET, Ghana.

His core technical areas include pumps, compressors, valves and engines, as well as mechanical device assembly production and Hand Fitting Techniques. Over the course of his career, he has successfully delivered technical and competency-based training for a variety of organisations, including MODEC OIL (GHANA & IVORY COAST), GHANA GAS COMPANY, PETROLEUM COMMISSION (AOGC), FIELD READY (MOZAMBIQUE), GRO OILFIELD, GENESIS OIL, VOLTIC GHANA, and GET ENERGY. He has also successfully facilitated City & Guilds-certified programmes for various organisations, contributing significantly to the technical development of Ghana’s industrial workforce.
