Ing. Daniel Kumi Owusu is a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at Takoradi Technical University, Ghana, with an extensive background in electrical and instrumentation engineering, vocational training, and industrial automation. He brings more than eighteen years of combined academic and industry experience, supported by internationally recognised qualifications as a trainer and assessor in competency-based education.
He is currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa. He also holds an MSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same university, a BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Accra Institute of Technology, and an HND in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Takoradi Technical University. At Takoradi Technical University and the Centre of Excellence for Oil and Gas Studies, he serves as Lead Trainer in Electrical Engineering and as an Assessor in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering, delivering practical training to students and professionals in oil and gas, mining, food production, manufacturing, academia, and technical education. He has also worked as a consultant in the development and validation of competency-based training curricula for industrial automation technology under the auspices of the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training of Ghana.
His research publications include works on the application of artificial intelligence to challenges in electrical machines, as well as studies in machine control systems and automation, demonstrating both academic scholarship and applied expertise. He is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) and the International Association of Engineers (IAENG). With a distinctive blend of academic experience, professional practice, and international certification, Ing. Owusu is committed to advancing technical education, developing industry ready graduates, and promoting safety, efficiency, and innovation in electrical and instrumentation engineering.
